Terms of Service

Thank you for using CozyGrids. We build the service to help you turn your favourite photos into beautiful craft patterns. Because we cannot know every one of our users personally, we have put in place these Terms of Service to help ensure the smooth operation of our platform.

When we say “Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us” in this document, we are referring to CozyGrids, operated from the United Kingdom.

When we say “Service”, we mean the CozyGrids application at cozygrids.com, whether accessed via a web browser, mobile browser, or any other format.

When we say “You” or “your”, we are referring to the people or organisations that have an account with CozyGrids, or who use CozyGrids as unauthenticated visitors.

We may update these Terms of Service (“Terms”) in the future. Whenever we make a significant change to our policies, we will update the date at the top of this page and take any other appropriate steps to notify account holders.

When you use our Service, now or in the future, you are agreeing to the latest Terms. There may be times where we do not exercise or enforce a right or provision of the Terms; however, that does not mean we are waiving that right or provision. These Terms do contain a limitation of our liability.

If you violate any of the Terms, we may terminate your account.

Account terms

  1. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for ensuring that any of your users do the same. The Company cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
  2. You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service.
  3. You are responsible for all content posted to and activity that occurs under your account.
  4. You must be a human. Accounts registered by automated methods (“bots”) are not permitted.

What CozyGrids does

CozyGrids converts photos into craft patterns for cross-stitch, knitting, crochet, embroidery, and diamond painting. Our Free tier includes 5 pattern conversions per month. Our Pro tier provides unlimited conversions with additional features.

Payment, refunds, and plan changes

  1. If you are using CozyGrids Free, there is no cost: we do not ask you for your credit card and we do not sell your data.
  2. If you upgrade from Free to Pro, we will charge your card immediately and your billing cycle starts on the day of upgrade.
  3. All fees are exclusive of all taxes, levies, or duties imposed by taxing authorities. Where required, we will collect those taxes on your behalf and remit them to the appropriate authority. Otherwise, you are responsible for payment of all applicable taxes.
  4. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us if you believe you are entitled to a refund.

Cancellation and termination

  1. You are solely responsible for properly cancelling your account. You can do so from within the application or by contacting us.
  2. If you cancel your Pro subscription before the end of your current billing period, your cancellation will take effect at the end of that period. You will retain Pro access until then.
  3. Upon account deletion, all associated data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
  4. We have the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of our Service for any reason at any time. Verbal, physical, written or other abuse (including threats of abuse or retribution) of a Company representative will result in immediate account termination.

Modifications to the Service and prices

  1. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, any part of our Service with or without notice.
  2. We may change the pricing structure for our products. When we do so, we generally exempt existing customers from those changes. However, we may choose to change the prices for existing customers. If we do so, we will give at least 30 days' notice via the email address on your account.

Uptime, security, and privacy

  1. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. We provide this Service on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
  2. We reserve the right to temporarily disable your account if your usage significantly exceeds the average usage of other customers of the Service. We will notify you before taking any action except in rare cases where usage may negatively impact the performance of the Service for others.
  3. We take many measures to protect and secure your data through backups, redundancies, and encryption. We enforce encryption for data transmission from the public Internet.
  4. When you use our Service, you entrust us with your data. We treat that responsibility seriously. You agree that CozyGrids may process your data as described in our Privacy Policy and for no other purpose.

Uploaded photos

When you upload a photo, it is processed server-side to generate your craft pattern. We do not permanently store your uploaded images. Once the pattern has been generated, the original photo is discarded from our servers.

Copyright and content ownership

  1. All content posted on the Service must comply with applicable copyright law.
  2. You own all patterns you create. We give you a limited licence to use the Service to create patterns, but we claim no ownership rights over those materials. All patterns you generate using CozyGrids remain yours.
  3. Pro users receive a commercial licence. Pro subscribers receive a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to sell craft patterns they generate using CozyGrids, provided the source image was lawfully obtained and the subscriber holds all necessary rights to the source material.
  4. This commercial licence applies only to the pattern output, not to the underlying source image. Selling a pattern derived from a copyrighted image without the rights holder's permission may constitute copyright infringement under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
  5. CozyGrids does not review patterns for commercial suitability or legal compliance. You are solely responsible for ensuring your commercial activities comply with applicable law.
  6. Free tier users may use generated patterns for personal, non-commercial use only.
  7. The Company or its licensors own all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including all intellectual property rights therein. You obtain no ownership rights in the Service as a result of your use. You may not duplicate, copy, or reuse any portion of the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or visual design elements without express written permission from the Company.
  8. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Service, use of the Service, or access to the Service without the express written permission of the Company.

Your content and uploaded images

You warrant that you own the copyright in any image you upload, or that you have obtained all necessary licences and permissions from the rights holder.

You warrant that your uploaded images do not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any applicable law.

You acknowledge that converting a photograph into a craft pattern constitutes reproduction under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, and that you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to reproduce the source image.

By uploading an image, you grant CozyGrids a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce and process the image solely for the purpose of generating your craft pattern. This licence terminates when processing is complete and the source image is deleted from our servers.

You retain full ownership of your uploaded images and generated patterns at all times.

Pattern storage

Patterns are stored locally in your browser. If you are an authenticated user, you may optionally sync your patterns to the cloud so they are accessible across devices. You can delete your saved patterns at any time.

Features and bugs

We design our Service with care, based on our own experience and the experiences of users who share their time and feedback. However, there is no such thing as a service that pleases everybody. We make no guarantees that our Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations.

We also test all of our features extensively before releasing them. As with any software, our Service inevitably has some bugs. We track the bugs reported to us and work through priority ones, especially any related to security or privacy. Not all reported bugs will get fixed and we do not guarantee completely error-free Service.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CozyGrids, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or relating to: (a) your uploaded content, including any claim that it infringes a third party's intellectual property or other rights; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your commercial sale or distribution of patterns generated using the Service.

Disclaimers

Liability

You expressly understand and agree that the Company shall not be liable, in law or in equity, to you or to any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, lost profits, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if the Company has been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from: (i) the use or the inability to use the Service; (ii) the cost of procurement of substitute goods and services resulting from any goods, data, information or services purchased or obtained or messages received or transactions entered into through or from the Service; (iii) unauthorised access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; (iv) statements or conduct of any third party on the Service; (v) or any other matter relating to these Terms or the Service, whether as a breach of contract, tort (including negligence whether active or passive), or any other theory of liability.

In other words: choosing to use our Service means you accept the inherent risks of relying on a third-party platform. If the Service does not meet your expectations, we are not liable. We make every reasonable effort to operate reliably through careful management of the business, investments in security, infrastructure, and talent, and a genuine commitment to quality.

Copyright complaints

If you believe content on CozyGrids infringes your copyright, please contact us with:

We will investigate all valid complaints and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content and suspending or terminating the account of the uploader.

We will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights. We consider a user to be a repeat infringer if they have been the subject of more than one valid copyright complaint.

Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
